Executive Team

Jeff Berwick

Losing his sight at the age of 13, Jeff turned to technology to assist in his daily work at school.  As his comfort level with computers grew, so did his proficiency ultimately resulting in the completion of a programming course in 2000.  Before that, Jeff had tinkered with programming and used it to assist him in his completion of a Broadcast Radio program at Fanshawe College in London.

Since 2000 Jeff has been developing accessible web sites which range in size from a couple to hundreds of pages.  He finds great satisfaction in being able to create web sites which are fully accessible and available for all.

Jeff believes that public perception, attitude and demand is changing and that equal | access™ is well situated to positively impact the lives of the disabled both in terms of access and economics.  In short, equal | access™ has come along at the right time!

Geof Collis

Geof has been designing websites since 1999 when he launched his first internet company, Badeyes Design and Consulting.

In the beginning he was caught up in the Flash craze and developed some pretty entertaining Flash sites. Unfortunately but, not unexpectedly, his eyesight deteriorated and Flash was no longer an option.

Months, after his first daughter was born, his central vision disappeared and he quickly realized how inaccessible the Internet had become, so he turned his talents to accessible web design.

He studied the W3C's Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0, WCAG 2.0 Working Draft and today's best practices. He built one site after another and honed his skills so that he now builds some of the most accessible websites in Canada.

Highly recognized in the disability community as an expert in his field, Geof is the man in charge of Product Development at equal | access™. He spends his time training, designing, auditing and educating people on the benefits of accessible web design.
